Disconsolate - he retires to the nearest watering hole to commune with some spirits.

Mass confusion reigns --- temporarily - then off to battle they go.

The hold on second place solidifies - but bigger gaps have been overcome before!
It is not time to rest on the laurels yet! (besides -- they are prickly)
