I invested over 1k into my weller, and that was with "budget" gear.
If you want a pro one, look to spend anywhere from 2-3k+ :o
(~500 weapon, ~500 armor, ~1-1.5k dmg charm, ~1k heal charm, these are all rough guesses but still within reason)


You could always just get lower stuff, but then they are not nearly as effective, especially with the current version. Better off investing into a GUARDIAN weller, because I hear they are BEASTLY. (not to mention it is way cheaper for ee/INT clubs/heavy armors than it is dagger/staff/robe)

I welled with both a 141ee wild and 106ee regular heal. the regular heal beat the wild hands down and it was quite a bit less ee. consistency is a MUST when healing during welling.

Sounds good. Due to the current patch, INT gear is not as badass as it used to be. Try to find INT gear with nice yummy 2nd mods.

Here are a few of my favorites

+Mana (obvious)
-%Mana Consumption (again, obvious)
+Mana Syphon (to give you mana when you are hit, which will happen)
+Dex? May help vs crits? Not sure, check with others on this one

But yeah, you used to be able to just beast out your INT and be fine, now you need to think outside the box, but you still need INT on your gear.

Get a dmg charm over 120ee, preferably ~150+ee
Get a heal charm over 100ee, preferably ~120+ee

I would focus on MQ (55) gear first, because that is where I did most of my welling. I did lower items @ 55, then the mid to higher ones at 64. All a matter of opinion though.


Note:
Changes I made to weapon / armor + Int
Reasons... get your weller to join catacombs upto level 55 (just heal them as best you can)
Leave the group and then start your welling... this way you can test your build at a viable level.

Jesse mentioned some adds... if you can not get any of those... try for:
Armor Pierce & Critical strike... they help with damage.

Damage charm on Main Slot
Heal Type on Acc Slot

There are debates to this...
1. People like to heal more than dmg... less deaths and easier to run away
2. People believe that the faster you kill them... the easier it is to not die

Those are both true... but it all depends on your gear... which is better in which slot???

Example for me... (if I was to do this)
102 ee heal on main
131 ee ice on Acc (if taking -25% ee into consideration, this would be: 106ee)

It is upto you...

is it -25ee or -25% of its total effectiveness? cause if the effectiveness is the case, then its actually more like 98ee or so
