im actually doing the P90X workout as well, why are you getting so sore, expecially on the first day, you shouldnt be ripping so hard that you cant move, your just injuring yourself, you do the exercises until you cant anymore, and then you stop, dont push yourself, because your body is just getting more and more tired, and you can seriously injure yourself.
actually the objective to building muscle is going past that point but knowing when to stop
when i was in football conditioning we had to do this thing called the Spartan 300
it was a serious of push ups/squat thrusts/star jumps/ mountain climbers/intense core workouts you name it
but we were to push through the pain and go as far as a bodies would let us
after a few days of vigorous training your body will build lots more even though you may be crapped out
always always always eat some source of protein or pasta after a workout
