At the hospital on Detroit with my mom. Her back surgery is today. Lumbar fusion from L1 - L5. Surgery is going to take 5-7 hours. Starts at 10am Est time(In about 5min). Just said my goodbyes to her.
Stressed the fuck out is all I can say. I could sit here and write a list of all her problems that will complicate this surgery, but you wouldn't read it.
COPD and PAD are her two main problems along with a LONG list of others. The Dr. says 1 in 3 ppl get better. Really...33% ? That's it ?
The Dr. also says she has a real chance of not making it through the surgery because of all her other pre-existing conditions.
