It's been an interesting week for LS.

Seems to me people need to start remembering reasons TO play, and reasons TO continue being a part of the community.

All I've been seeing is reasons to quit, and reasons to leave.

heh. busking is playing music on a street corner with a case open to make money. made about $50 split two ways in under an hour, then some asshole called the cops. if we would have known we would have just played with the damn case closed. good news is they took me in, then dropped the charges after an hour of bullshit. one guy that was watching us chewed that cops ass, that made us all feel like it was worth it.

Well at least the damage wasnt permanent. What did that guy say to the cop?

called him every name in the book and tried to explain that we werent begging for money, we were playing for free basically, with case open for tips (didnt have a sign and didnt ever ask anyone for anything). the cop argues that there was a complaint from a local merchant who said we were "scaring" away his or her business. ive been doing this for a few years for fun (great way to have band practice) and have never run into a problem like this. ive never played on the street in KC though. apparently after they instated panhandling laws bums brought out instruments and harassed people for money so they passed another law.
