VN run tonight.....got to mq and even welled some items....thanks to Duke for awesome tanking and Cody, Dustin and Justin for the healing. Just a thought but we are getting close enough in members to get 2 groups going if more people would post up the times they are available and toons they have.....cant fit 6 or 7 into a 5 person game.....I will gladly give up my spot for the guild but if I try to plan run at a certain lvl and someone shows up at the last minute its hard to leave.
For the record for the new people....we try to plan a run nightly.....i usually post up during the day what lvl we are going at....I usually determine this by my available chars, Duke's and Justin's and other senior AB members like Slap_Nutts, Joker (lmao)...etc and then get people to commit to time of run. Due to time zones, work and rl we run at 6:15pm PST or 9:15pm EST and if going at lvl 20 get to about 45/50 and then stop. We normally leave our toons parked at that lvl for the next nights run. Sometimes Chip will continue on to mq but he is a dick like that and Duke will vouch.
The advantage of running multiple toons is that we can always ensure full runs at whatever lvl we are after. I realize gear is at a premium for our newer members so i recommend u use the market place xfer to other chars and if u rich use the vault. One of the things I love about LS is helping new chars learn the game but if the same 5 keep mqing as a group and our new members are left searching for a group it defeats the purpose of a guild run. Therefore I recommend that everyone have at least 2-3 toons they play and try to space them out and actively post when u can play and what time works for you.
We have enough members to get multiple groups going especially at night....we might be small in the guild world but in today's LS world we are one of the BIG boys! I cant tell you how many people I know in other guilds that are envious of what Duke has built here in AB and I want to see it grow. Organization is the key to success IMO.
With that being said, please remember to be humble and help new slashers. Our repuation as a guild rests on each and ever member and how you treat new slashers refects on the guild as a whole. I personally have not always been the nicest especially at low lvls and I must remind myself how I used to be. Please look up to people like BigDuke6 and Jlhromeo on how they treat new players. For the new guys, I just referred to someone not in our guild....he is in Kirby the symbol @#$@#$%@# guild. (cant do their symbols so no offense meant) but he (Jesse) is one of the nicest people I know on jsp. Played D2 for years and made a lot of friends there but Jesse is in my top 10! My point is watch how they treat people in the game of ls and how they help people. LS can be a cruel game or its members of a certain climb can be down right mean but if people just acted like Steve or Jesse and helped people learn the game it would be better for all.
IMO the LS community is shrinking.....while that is good for AB from the GP perspective (in our current position) it is bad for the economy and future growth of the guild. With that being said IMO we need to actively recruit and educate new slashers and teach them on how the game is played. All I am saying is instead of calling a new player a noob take 2 mins and explain the game to them....even help them shop for gear if needed. Not sure who Justin and i helped but we took 2 mins and set up someone with hm gear.....I did the same with Bob/Cam and the people we helped appreciated it. Cant remember who it was and they could be guild members now b/c of our help. i just want to see LS continue to grow and AB to continue to rise up in the ranks of the elite guilds.
i think I joined AB when we had less than 200 gps, met Steve and he taught me the ropes, got 126 gps, left for a few days and came back and now working on next 126. I have seen the guild come so far in a short period and just want to see it continue in a positive direction. What I mean by that is being well mannered slasher and being helpful to our fellow slashers regardless of guild. I look to one guild that embodies this IMO and its Kingdom of Hyrule or KOH. Some of the nicest slashers and never seen a bm move by any of them.
Guess not many people will read my wall of text but I am sure Rex from Kirby will be impressed. Moral of the story is: Be nice, help others learn the game, communicate on guild runs, Jesse is a god, make multiple toons and have fun!
