If logs were public, you would be able to see obvious multis left and right, and avoid scams, etc.

I would go more in depth, but I'm lazy and it seems self explanatory.

Hell no. a lot of private things happen on jsp. Private trades (donations/RLT/buying FG from D2JSP/Star upgrades etc)

should NEVER be public

I'm sure there would be a way to make the bank related transactions private.

But yeah, perhaps people put their address for the RL trades or something? Dunno.

Normal users have no need to see gold logs, it's not of our concern.
