Has been suggested a couple times, always shot down. So it's a no from me, knowing it will be a no anyways :/

Oh dear God I would hate this, who wants to look at 40 emails a day. Right up there with getting notifications from facebook IMO.

There could obviously be an option to toggle the E-Mail notifications on or off.
