Not many people use the instant messenger for the notifications purposes. I always use it and it would help speed up trades if more people used it.
Suggestions: - The button to open instant messenger could say: " Chat / PM Notification" or " IM / Notifications" That way people will realize it's not just to chat with friends only. Only 1 other person I know uses the instant messenger / notification. It needs to be advertised more so people stop neglecting it.
- Instead of only being able to IM people on your friends list, there could be an "Chat Invite" button in your inbox or profile, or a clickable link you can PM someone. Example
/joinchat@watkins. Their name would appear in the left bar of the instant messenger and you could instant chat just like with friends. Other precautions would have to be considered in order to verify trades made in this " chat room", or to prove scams etc.
- With the newest update, it's unnecessary to hear the notification when you bump your own tracked topics.
- There should be an option to change sounds, or a different sound for each notification.
PM = Sound#1
Gold Received = Sound#2
Tracked topic replied on = Sound#3
Friend request received = Sound#4
Instant Message = Sound#5
etc.
