  • You encourage name botters
  • Easy to get scammed over a name, as the trading techniques are too sloppy
  • You delete your char to remake him, and you lose the name within 3 seconds, just because jsp encourages namebotting

I know people who sell names will get mad over me, but losing names because someone bots them within 3 seconds is thievery.

YES^200
and If it was banned you could probably find a new name sometimes
now dozens of kids steal dozens of names so there are really none left
I wonder how much % of names are in use (chars being played)...

By that logic jsp "encourages" botting for items as well, because you can sell items on jsp.
When trading a name both sides know that the techniques to do so are sloppy, if you do not want to do it that's fine, but don't constrict others who are willing to take that risk.

Sorry, but a "no" from me.

you obviously haven't lost a name to a namebotter, I doubt you even play Diablo 2.

We have to differentiate here. I think your third argument is indeed valid, but that it does not weigh heavy enough to justify a ban on trading names.

no..trade at your own risk for them.

lets face it, the whole game is bots, the game is over a decade old..name botting is the least of the problem..think about the baal bots who ruined the economy on jsp and made it almost impossible tos ell items. Shakos, arachs on ladder only selling for 1fg each, and even at that its hard to get rid oft hem cause of so many people botting their is a mass supply.

Most of the name traders give you good options, where if you let them transfer the name and its lost, you get a refund. Alot of trusted name trades do this with success..

Name trading honestly should be banned as it is clearly "NOT SAFE".

There is no guarantee that once you send the forum gold to the person you will get your desired name.
There is no guarantee that once you get the name that the same person who sold it to you cannot simply name bot it back (or someone else namebots the name upon you xfering it).
Then you have to go to the scammers s/a. Nothing will be done because you have no way of proving your case.
Hence why name selling was originally banned.

Name botting is just another headache honestly for the site.
It causes fights, opens up potential scams and creates for work for moderaters as they have to deal with the situation when it gets out of control.

I don't know why they unbanned that rule. It just made sense to have it in place.
