My Site Suggestion is the following: There should be a Trade Chat option embed in our Trading Ground's threads, where the seller and the buyer can talk about the trade, reach an agreement on price, etc. It would practically replace our PM conversations about the trade.

Each Trading Ground's thread would have its own Trade Chat room, that means when someone presses the "Trade Chat" button, he/she would be redirected to a private Instant Messenger chat and there would be only two people, he or she and the thread's owner. But if the thread's owner is offline or is not in his/her chat, no one would be able to join it (a message would pop-up saying that the thread's owner is not in the chat).

The thread's owner is online but not in his Trade Chat? Just PM him saying to enter it because you're interested on his items. The idea is that if you have in-game items for sale, or even in-game services, then you should keep open your Trade Chat for the people interested in what you're offering in your thread. But remember that this is not an obligation. If you didn't like this idea, just keep trading how you have done it all this time!


Why this suggestion should be added?: I think if we had a Trade Chat option embed in our Trading Ground's threads, not only our trades would be much more easier and smoother, but also they could be used as a strong evidence (due to a possible scam) in the Scammer Accusation Forums; just a simple screenshot of the conversation can be used in S. Accusation threads as proof, or maybe a new button called "Talk Tracker" or "IM Tracker"/"dIM Tracker" which would save the conversation in an Internet URL/link and it couldn't be edited.

Many ideas come to my mind about this. Maybe even a Request Mediator button too and the Mediator would be able to join the Trade Chat.
But I'm not really sure if all these ideas can be implemented or not, due to the large amount of Trade Chats open at the same time (it may lag the Site too much, I do not know) or due to other factors that I'm not considering.

Is it really needed? Not really. The current system works fine.

Request a Mediator button in there would be good, but I don't see the difference between a normal chat with someone and a trade chat?
In the normal chat you can discuss the trade as well right?

Allthough you do need to add the person.


I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but I'd like to see it as the following:


In the Instand Messenger add a namesearch bar.
When you put a name in there, for example globo_killer a request for a trade chat will be sent to the other user. If the other user accepts then on both screens the trade chat will pop-up. (both users have to be online)

In the tradechat you will see the Forum Gold icon and the Request a Mediator button.
Here you can talk about the trade with that person and request a mediator / send the forum gold.

You already have the "Send Forum Gold" option when you right-click someone in d2jsp Instant Messenger

/And the "Add to Friend list" option isn't that necessary since you're using this feature for trading.

Mostly use it for incoming friend requests and PM's
