Looked around to see if this has been mentioned but didn't see anything.

Alot of d2jsp is of a tabular design. Would it not be more efficient and modern to use divs + css? I'm no expert with sites on this scale but tables have just been inefficient (concerning load times/bandwidth) in my experience. Maybe a solution would be to set up a test server and rebuild design using divs then import members and content. I would guess integration would be more of a problem than front-end remodeling.

Any thoughts?

I think it's more a matter of integration, and it might not be many moderators on here, who are experts on that field. (I guess there are some, of course, but think about this. If the site had to close for days, because of bad programming, that would be a lot of hassle). I wouldn't dare.

I'm sure if njaguar open-sourced the new design to respectable people in the community who had skill in front-end design it wouldn't be a problem. Also, this kind of upgrade would not get the site closed down, as it would have been tested on the test server I was talking about.

Edit: For example, I'd help out just as a learning experience. Designing for a site on this scale would be an interesting challenge.
