pretty simple

light names for offline
dark names for online

(or the online/offline pictures could be added which legacy indirectly suggested)

right now everyone's name is dark no matter what

this would make it easier to buy from suppliers by knowing who is online and who isnt without having to go to their profile

There is no need for them to be on the gold logs page. It appears in topics below peoples names, PM's, in their profiles..etc

On your Gold log page, you can see who you traded with. Go check their profile, if you want to see if they are online.

I hardly ever check my goldlog, I'd imagine most people are the same. If I need to go to a certain friend or supplier, I'll use the address book, whereup adding them, I can write a comment about what they supply. It's a simple click to their profile from there.

One problem I would note with your idea would be that lighter and darker names wouldn't work with every background; for many, therefore, it would be useless.

this is true. thats why i edited to add that online/offline pictures could be added instead. and i didnt even think about the address book.

i like the idea of the address book better but there's still the same problem of not being able to see if they are online or offline right away.
