The last thread was closed while I was fulfilling my 12 hour work day today, so I didn't have an opportunity to explain or respond to any of the posts that were made. Let me start by saying that:

A) I did not state that I thought that users should be instantaneously warned for a spam comment, as in it being an automated system (this was in fact a misinterpretation), but rather the said user should be a candidate for such a punishment with a high priority, because they're not simply breaking a site rule, but blatantly disregarding the fact that a user has spent fg that he/she has spent time making (whether you trade for it or buy it outright, your time is valuable in one form or another, or at least mine is). It is actually a malicious act on a user by another user. I believe that the system in place of mediators+, moderators, etc is a good system and I'm not inferring that we need to replace people with an automated system, so I'll be clear about that up front.

B.) A user stated that paid threads merit no special treatment and that that was not the function of them. Well I think it is quite obvious that the function of having a paid thread is to attain the ability to stand out among other threads, but again, refer to the above statement regarding time being valuable.

C) People have no regard for the consequences of spamming in trade threads what so ever. It happens non-stop, which in fact encourages the spam, rather than negating it. While I am an individual that believes in liberty and the pursuit of happiness, I don't believe that it's right to steal from others, which is in fact what people are doing when they spam a paid thread. This being the case because that person has spent fg for the thread and every time someone posts some sort of non-sense in the thread or negativity, it jeopardizes the thread of being closed for spam (I've seen paid threads closed due to people, other than the original poster, having posted in it) and it takes away an opportunity from someone who may have posted a legitimate offer in the thread as well.

D) You can argue that early bumping is spam, which I hold in no less contempt when I patiently wait 4 hours to bump each of my trade threads in East Ladder/East Trading, but I would not consider it spam in the sense of that person being malicious towards the original poster. I believe that sending the person early bumping a friend/acquaintance's topic a verbal warning via pm to politely make them aware that it's against the rules to do so, would be more than just and that further violations would thus potentially be considered for a warn.

The fact remains that the spam is not getting any better, it is in fact getting worse. Just because the site has a rather relaxed position on certain types of behavior doesn't mean that some sort of deterrent shouldn't be presented and that people that abuse the trading threads shouldn't be punished for disorderly conduct. If people were warned for such behavior, they would cease to do so and either revert to spamming in General Chat (which is more or less what that forum's purpose is anyways) or leave the site and find another site to practice their ridiculous mannerisms. I'm not saying that my idea is 100% correct and I'm also open to suggestions and other interpretations of the subject at hand. The idea can of course can be altered slightly, albeit keeping the main idea intact, but perhaps fine tuned. I'm not a member+, mediator, or moderator, so I don't know exactly how warn% is distributed, but I do know that it's frequently mentioned between non-trusted members that spamming will not typically earn a warn% (you hear a lot of things mentioned in two and half year's time). Thanks to those of you who take the time out of your day to stop, read the suggestion that I have presented, and reflect upon it.

Only the moderation team will determine who gets a warning or not. People will spam 90% of topics made in this forum...Paid topics are just to make them stick out more then others, nothing more special about them than any other one besides it costs fg to make and everyone know's the possibilities that can happen by creating it.

No sorry the intention of paid threads is just to bring more attention to it.
It does not and WILL not going to get special treatment.
If your topic is getting spammed report it via button or PM directly to the appropriate moderator for that area.
