After a thread has been up for a while, you can no longer edit the original post. This becomes very annoying for people who sell a lot of items very fast -- just recently I posted a large for-trade list and ran into this problem. I sold a lot of items and tried to update my list in a new post, but it got closed for Early bump violation etc. I wasted 5fg on the topic title for it to get closed within a matter of minutes. I just don't see what's so bad about making the original post editable until the thread closes?

Making it always editable has been suggested many times & denied every time

It would help in facilitating scamming... As the first post could be edited after trades have been completed

Sorry :(

:Hello: Hello there LoganKIDS,

I'm sorry but this suggest will never be added, as someone who scammed or posted an illegal topic or post could easly just edit out there post before they get in trouble for what they did. Sure users could take screen shots of the trade, but trades are suppose to be done through a topic, and in the Scammer Accusations forum you don't need a screen shot of the trade inside the topic just a link. So if you can edit your post whenever you want you can easly say so and so scammed you. Same reason for an off topic post, If a user posts something he or she shouldn't and gets reported they could easly just edit out there post before it can be taken care of by a member of the team. Just wait 4 hours before you update your list of items your selling and you won't ever have a problem. You could even put a little note in your topic to say "look at last post for updates".

Maybe add a "show edited post" option? This could work, you originally view the normal post, then click the button and you can see the edited post. not sure how a scammer could get away with that!

I'm sure they keep some kind of logs of edits.
