Hey,
As reading some scammer accusations and its abit worrying that known scammers in the past have their tags removed just by 'repaying their debt'. Im all for the idea, but there has so be some kind of indication that they have scammed in the past, either for new players or older ones that don't know them people have scammed.
We all know most scammers do it once, then 'realise its not worth it/grow up/regret doing it', repay, and go back to normal. Which is great. But theres a small minority that can go back and find that a new scam can bring in more than what they owed.
Some would say its not fair that they payed back the scam and their tag is left on, but maybe they should of thought about that before scamming in the first place. Maybe the whole idea of giving the oppertunity of scam tag being removed would motivate them to scam knowing it would be removed over time.
The most logical way i see is that the scammer tag would stay on or some sort of icon next to their profile that indicates an ex-scammer, their gold unlocked so they can use as they please ( after repaying ) and legit traders would be more careful with trades.

No. As in no, you're idea has been suggested before. It is what is already is for a reason.

They paid there dues for scamming, everyone gets a second chance for a new start. Why still show they scammed?

Yes people do deserve a second chance, but don't the people who havn't scammed deserve to know who has scammed so they can be cautious to trade with them? Instead of diving in with the trade they would use a mediator or the ex-scammer would give first.

I feel myself the Scammer tag should be replaced once paid with a smaller icon like a red dot to indicate, that way it doesnt seem so harsh and a way people would know.

that kind of takes the whole purpose out of removing the Scammer Tag by repaying your Scam(s) if it is still going to be there

You should always use a Mediator whenever you do a trade to be safe.

The only way I can see this would be useful is to "prevent scams", but the only way to prevent scams is to use a Mediator.
Also, what would happen if you e.g. get keylogged, the person who keylogged you scams people and you recieve a locked/scammer tag?, Should you be tagged for life?

If they cause a problem, they get banned or warned. If they scam they get locked again.

I'm sure you think that people that can take from others without a care should not be given a chance to redeem their deed, but as long as they repay and show that they can be a better person they get unlocked, but the process can take a very long time to becoming unlocked. Those who really want another chance do their best to get unlocked and those who just won't change lose their rights as a member on this board.

Sorry but I do not feel this suggestion is necessary.

I agree, but a big motivation is to get their FG access back, which would be the case

it's a long proccess to get unlocked and they really have to prove they are trustworthy again,

I do believe people deserve another chance, but when someone scams they have to pay the price of that. (Scammed and locked tag), what does the person who gets scammed get? i supposed one less scammer but that doesn't really mean anything to them, so they have to wait weeks/months/years for the scammer to pay them back, thats alot of time without their own hard earned FG, they can't buy items which is a huge inconvienience. When the scammer finally pays back the scammed get their gold back, after months of not having it ( surely there should be some kind of interest? ) why would they be happy with getting something back what they should of had from the start, with the scammer free to do what they want. there surely has to be a little extra that would make the scammed feel better, like an indication that the scammer has scammed before.
