I don't know if this has been suggested before, so here goes:

A button in the Topic Tracker section that can move your topic from the Trade Forum to the trade archives.
IMO this would have the following advantages:

1. Clear up Traffic from the forums: once the thread has served it's purpose, others won't have to sift through unnessary topics.
2. Clear up confusion whether or not the ISO, FT, or service is still active. Once the trade is done, it gets deleted and nobody has to make extra posts asking if it's sold.T he original poster won't have to worry about pm's asking about the status of the items in question.
3. Put an end to Spamming threads. If you post something and it turns into a spam war between others, just shut it down without having to wait for a mod to notice it.
4. Clear up Traffic from our own topic trackers: If an item you're watching has been removed by the OP, you can delete it sooner and move on. It won't be sitting in your topic tracker while you wait for updates anymore.
5. Lighten the work load for moderators: Users will be shutting down their own threads, decreasing the overall traffic and making the problem topics stand out more for mods to find.

Let me know what you think!

Won't ever happen, been suggested many times.

If you want your topic to go away just let it die off and get archived.

That's what EVERYONE said about allowing your own services, so yeah... I'd prefer opinions on whether you think it would improve the site, NOT the probability of it happening.

The probability is it will NEVER happen.

I don't see how it would help the site at all honestly. IMO it would cause more problems.

ex.
Someone scams, then they delete the topic.
Thousands of people deleting topics at the same time would cause server load issues.

Again that's exactly what people said about allowing your own services on the trade forums, but I suppose you'll just repeat it again...

The topic is not deleted, it's moved to the trade forum archive, it can still be seen.
Topics would only be deleted as frequent as the posts are fullfilled. The same about of topics would still exist, some would just be sent to the archive sooner than normal.

#1 idea i agree.. also it would be nice to have more rights as owner of your own topics.. specifically blocking people in all ways, even from posting in your threads etc..

I agree with Associate, though I think there should be minor limitations of the rights...
Perhaps the ability to remove a certain post would be nice...

But in regards to the topic
This would be nice, though not DELETE so much as move to archives.
Would like to see this, though probably not going to happen...

I'm pretty sure it would be there if it was possible to make it work well.

What would stop me from making a spam thread and then just "closing" it for fun.

I don't think normal users need more power than they currently have.
