As many of you have noticed Facebook just got this addition, I think JSP could use this adequately as well. In stead of hitting reply you would just have to type enter. I guess the only downwards fall is spam, but you would still have to wait in between messages so it's basically the same.

I just saw this because I'm on my laptop and it's a pain to move over and hit reply every time, a desktop is so much easier. However an Enter system would be great I think, and just hold shift and press enter to break line.

I would say no. I don't know if the spam will go up but there will probably be many mistakes if you have to shift+enter to start a new line which will lead to many useless posts and topics.

Some people actually use paragraphs to converse.

Oh, and did you know? In PMs, you can hit Ctrl-Enter as a way to send the message. I eventually plan to add this to posts as well.
