1st , i know this may be an impractical suggestion , as only so many members can be assigned to deal with s/a's
but id like to see scammer accusations handled by team members who are actually familiar with the realm / forum / etc , that the scam took place on
i feel that having a team member who handles , say , all of d2 west's s/a's ,( and part of whose job would be to check in on the forum regulary ) would greatly improve the actual effectiveness of the whole process ( which is widely regarded as a total joke )
time after time ,we see scammers well known to the regular community , rip off new users again and again
and the team member handling the s/a , starting from scratch , with no knowaldge of anyone involved , slowly plodding thru the standerd process
we also see multiple s/a's , bumped for months and months ( or simply discarded thru disgust at the non-action takem by the team ) , when the entire regular community knows exactly what happened
and while this leaves the scammer little chance of scamming regulars , it doesnt stop them getting new memebers time and again
i understand that there will always be cases where what happened isnt clear cut , but im not suggesting mob justice here , or any kind of favourtism
but rather that someone intimate with a community , will be able to percieve and judge better than someone who isnt
id also suggest that maybe the member assigned to that realm could multi task , and be responsible for closing threads for spam , etc , further familarizing them with the particular realm ( and the users who frequent it )
i hold no hope such a thing will ever happen tho
