Or perhaps (Shocking!) It's just our opinion? Locked users are under investigation. They should not be allowed to change posts. Can always be avoided by, you know, NOT getting locked?

You do realise that there isn't anything to read, don't you? You haven't provided any justification other than the sweeping generalisation that it "just invokes more spam". Care to explain how, exactly? If someone posts, then it can't actively be removed from the thread. The posts would still exist, it would just say something different. The inability of locked users to edit these posts would accomplish nothing towards the reduction of spam.
