In short, my suggestion is to allow people to post their "My Events" in the trading forums for Diablo II. No one on USWest ladder browses my events; an event that could be filled and completed very quickly will sit and on a list of other hopeless topics forever.
No, this won't make finding what you're looking for any harder to find. Rather it will make time-sensitive services easier to host/find. If you're really that slow, there's a search feature...
No, this won't cause more spam. A person who is going to spam doesn't need My Events to do it.
No, this won't cause more scamming. A person who is going to scam doesn't need My Events to do it.
Below is a short history on my frustration:
My conversation with a JR. Moderator who gave me a temporary suspension below. I sent him one more message regarding the nature of repeated offense punishments and asking him for permission to post our conversation. There was no reply, so I removed his tag.

Alright, but how can I host a GRush under this new system? No one browses My Events, so I'm literally forced to post in trade to get results. I see all kinds of random spam threads in the trade forums, so why are you cracking down on a legit trade? seems pretty ridiculous to me.
you have to use the events system.
you can advertise your events in your signature and profile by adding links to your events there.
So to be clear: It is allowed to put a link to an event in your signature and post in the trading forums
posting in the trading forums - no
adding link to signature / profile - yes
but if the link is in my signature, and i create a post in the trade forums... link is in trade forums...
you can use the trade forum to trade items, but not to advertise the link in your signature.
How many dragons do I have to slay to get rid of this ludicrous rule? There is honestly no valid way to post a GRush where anyone will ever see it. The only recourse is to simply post it in the Trade forums anyway and eat the temporary suspension but get the buyers. Of course, it's hard to tell if people actually pay you when you're suspended. This just increases the chances of being scammed... which I assume is the reason for this gimp setup to begin with. Who will see reason? Who can change this?
There is no legal way to bypass that restriction.
If you do not follow the rules, you will have to face the consequences.
