Hey
I thought it would be a good idea if they added more rules regarding the name change function

Like you can't change your d2jsp name if theres an open scammer accusation accusing you, or if you have multiple warns

This could stop mass unperm as perm sellers etc from scamming then changing their names and scamming some more because users would be unaware of who they are for example

Name changes don't change the user ID, only the name itself. And to add that would just be another thing the mods would have to keep up with.
And that would mean anyone could accuse you for scamming, these things go on for months without being answered.
So not being able to change your name just because of some douche bag possibly for months would also be a bit screwed up.
And being able to spend forum gold is already taken away at a certain warn percent I believe. Which would prevent them from being able to do such anyway.

So overall, no.

Voting no. Some accusations are fake, and it's not fair to the falsely confused.

I don't agree in the case of warns, but yes, I do somewhat agree that people with several accusations against them should have to go through a longer and more detailed name process to either clear them of any wrongdoings or deny them the change until a certain amount of time has passed.

Obviously only if the scammer accusations cases have proof and arn't just for the purposes of discrediting.

Well obviously it would have to be monitored, but I'm not on about the user ID, if there are multiple threads accusing someone of being an unperm as perm seller for example, usually jsp users would remember their name and know not to buy from em, but if the scammer changed his/her name, they could just start a scamming rampage again, since jsp don't lock that easy when it comes to unperm selling

Yeah, this is what I was getting at, it should be monitored and not just an automated system

you can create an s/a topic with my name , or i could be impersonated . why not a name change for such cases? we know who changed their name into what so they wouldn't escape any possible punishment
warns..well people get them because they either are too ignorant to read the rules even once, or they chose to learn them the hard way and disregard our friendly pms..
