While this would obviously not clear out all multis it would put a dent in quite a few of them in the worst group, the scammers. Of course I don't know how difficult a IP scan to check for multis is but really this would go farther to prevent scammers from still scamming on multis.

It seems good in theory, but we have to consider what IP scanning said locked user will do.

IP scanning the scammer in itself, does nothing. This is because, to check for multis, the IP of the scammed user would have to be crosschecked with EVERY IP on EVERY user on this website... and this site has over 700000 members and growing

So, to my knowledge, for this to work, every user's IP would have to be logged, and each time someone is branded as a scammer, their IP would have to be checked with everyone elses.

I could be wrong, as I don't know exactly, how njaguar runs this site, but this is what I would assume would have to be done in order for this suggestion to work. If I am right, this would probably slow the server down quite a lot...

But I'm interested. I like the concept, I just don't know the means to accomplish it

besides there are a thousand ways to change and hide your ip, this would be pointless.

I had assumed that you could look to see what the scammers IP was and then look up that IP and see what users had logged in on it. This would show every multi they had. Again I have no idea if it works this way but it would clean them out the moment they got tagged. Yes it is possible to change your IP but its not always easy and if you hit their multis when they are tagged they at least have to start with all new accounts and no fg.
