I'm fairly new to JSP and one thing I've learned is that it's tough to keep track of scammers without actively keeping track of what's going on in the forum every minute.

The Idea:

When a user submits a scammer accusation post, a link goes active in the accused's profile linking to the thread in question until the accused is either 1) locked and banned or 2) user is cleared of all charges (or lacking evidence). This would better alert traders of an on going investigation into the accused and to proceed with extreme caution. (forcing the accused to trade first or use a mediator)

I'd love to hear other users' thoughts including moderators/mediators on something like this. Would this be too hard to implement? Cause too much hassle for someone being accused?

This would be abused like all hell.
Someone doesn't like someone, so they throw up a scammer accusation. Now that person is forever marked as a scammer.
Even though said scammer was 'cleared of all charges', it still says he was suspected of scamming which is bad enough

I think there would have to be a certain amount of oversight to help deter against false accusations. And to answer the second part of your comment, the "link" and any trace of it would be removed as soon as the thread is closed (said user is banned or cleared).

So there would have to be more SA helpers and more SA med's combing through everything which would create more hassle for them, and they already have enough on their plates.

No.

It wouldn't work as you think, and this forum offers mediators for people to use so it's always your own fault for trading without one and getting scammed.
If there's no mediator available, then don't trade.
That's all there is to it.

I have never been scammed so apparently I do something right :)

No,This would be nice.
Let's say u completed the trade. And now the other person says that he does not have the item.If u are accused u can always see.If the other side is hoping to get profit off that then he gets some warn + Your accusation is cleared.
Banned is banned but this is pretty useful. And yes this would make people more aware.

The point is, you don't need to be aware.
You use your brains and you don't get scammed, ever.
