My suggestion is this - first let me start with the problem. Since reset there have been more people playing D2 and trading on JSP than in the months before. On the average there are about 600+ people trolling the East sc Ladder trading forum. (Overnight in the US about 200-300 people on average.) It's hard enough to get people to see your thread when you post ISO buying or selling you goods. You can only post in your thread once every 4 hours to bump if noone posts in it. AND unless they offer to bid or BIN you can't even reply to illegal "free bumps". Yes you can post in others threads but as fast as threads travel down the list it is impossible to view all the FT/ISO lists. (Sat about 5p I posted a thread brand new and it was OFF THE PAGE - and I view 25 threads per page! OFF THE PAGE in 15 seconds!) Without early bumps it is very hard to sell/buy items. When the spammers hit it's even harder. They can make a post once every 30 seconds and when you get about 20-30 of them going at once they each create a thread then go back and forth between each others posts and make a new post. What you get is 30 different threads each one coming to the top of the list at the rate of one post every second - sometimes there is more! Now I PM'd a mediator tonight and there are threads being closed very often in the East sc ladder but nothing more. In about an hour they will be back doing it again. Tomorrow they will still be doing it. I sat on one persons acct to just see how often they posted spam - this is a KNOWN spammer obviously - and they were on a roll. At the peak I reported his post on 28 consecutive posts - AND this took place in only 17 minutes. If you get 50 people doing that you cannot possibly make legal trade posts and enjoy this site. I'll stop raging and get to my suggestion. GET MED/TRUSTED PEOPLE WHO WILL KICK ASS! (sry for rage but this is frustrating!) If you close posts it does nothing. If you hand out warns people blow it off. I saw a guy who had it in his signature that he had a 20% warn for "Selling CD Keys". He got warned AND turned it into an add to make a profit!!! Face it the med/trust's don't do enough. Maybe their hands are tied - maybe there is a rule stating you can't ban/lock someone until they break x amount of rules or break a BIG rule. I don't know but closing threads doesn't work. The person I referred to earlier - yes they had at least 25+ posts 'reported' and they all were spam! And they still don't have a 10% warn. But warns don't work either. If they do get a warn they won't stop. We med/trust that will give 12/24 hr JSP bans and rules for them that allow them to do so! If the med/trust are allowed to hand out bans on first offenses then they need to do so. I know JSP (maybe not the med/trusted person) can also take away posting/sig/friends list/other rights. Do this too. Take away their ability to break the rules and they will stop. Or they will find another place to do so. Either way it makes JSP better. Meds kick people in the ass - they shape up or ship out. You close threads and say "Don't do that again" - then it continues AND gets worse!

Mediators/Trusted members - I challenge you to start handing out temp bans for habitual rule breakers and see how it improves this site!!!

WOW - you got that out of my rant/rage/suggestion??? YOU SHOULD BE A MODERATOR! Cuz that's what they do - miss the point of enforcing the rules and focus on closing threads - any thread for even the most minor violation - instead of dealing with all the spammers - who create the need for early bumps to begin with!

Stop the cause & you stop the problem
