Alright, well I don't know about a lot of you, but I've had topics spammed with no action, I've had mods ignore me, I've reported posts and no action has been taken... Always I get the same response when I question this though, it's always "They're busy"

Well, if they're busy, surely we need more of them? Why does the report posts button seem to do nothing? Why does requesting a mediator take up to 45 minutes?

I think having more mods would discourage spam, and also reduce scams due to the ability to request a mediator quickly, and more people taking that option

The site is growing, with over 700000 registered members, I don't think 100 or so mods (don't know the exact number) are enough to compensate so many people

I'm not talking give them away, but there are a hell of a lot of users who deserve to be mods, quite simply imo

I AM IN NO WAY suggesting myself for such a job, so don't think it's "cause he wants to be a mod hurr durr" because that isn't the case, I just want the site to run smoother than it does

I also believe that the mods are lenient, and no matter how many posts you report of the same user, nothing is ever done unless you collect topics where the user has spammed... I say, why should you have to?

If you report a post, and the same user spams a perfectly legitimate topic repeatedly, they should get warn, they shouldn't have to do it >9000 times just to get a measly 1 day ban.

Longer bans, harsher punishments imo. I have posted these two in one suggestion because I believe the two together would make the site a lot better to run, and more of what it is supposed to be, a friendly gaming and trading community.




tl;dr --> harsher punishments, report button does more, more mods, as a result would reduce spam, flame, and scam cases

1000% more mods in the S/a forum.
When I was scammed about 3 years ago the person who scammed me was dealt with within 12 hours.
Now you're lucky if the person gets locked within 12 days.

hard for me to see the fail..
if ur talking about the past , mods were 100 times stricter then and this time was way better imo..
cant talk about the time before 06 , but 06 was def better than it is now..

how so? its not like mods come from no where someone has to be willing to do it, its not really easy but it is the easiest way to fix the problem.

It must be sure that he is a scammer, before anything can be done. Hence better proves faster lock. Also, the situation is different case by case.



To the suggestion; moderators are doing just fine. We don't need any suggestion for that, moderators will adjust the moderation if it is needed for the community.

People who spam my thread are breaking the rules, I shouldn't have to go to ridiculous lengths of collecting topics to get a little bit of justice

I think all the mods are gonna say no because they want power, hence the sudden rush of "No" posts :-)
