alot of times I send messages with imporant information, or atleast information that helps me respond when someone sends me a message back (not a reply, so it holds no quotes).

Even just a 5-10 last messages sent would mean a great deal of security/information of what I have done recently!

hmm.. well i think u should remember what u sent him/her... if u think there is something important u might wana save a copy before sending

When you're sending it, before you hit send there's a box that says Save a Copy of this Message in my Sent folder, click that.
