could provide some structure to the LS economy.

you dont have to transmute to get better items.

you dont have to have GG gear to farm decent items or well items.

If Njaguar thinks it is too much work to script this, he could just let drops spawn UNID. This would require a scroll of identify to ID them. ID scroll's would be for sale at the markeyplace for 0.1 FG/ piece, this would make Njaguar some easy FG..

Then the only thing he should do is, enabling/allowing the selling of UNID items in the market place.

This would only require him to add UNID to the search feature, and maybe put a standard price for unid items. But that would not make Njaguar as much money as a 'real gamble feature' so it's not likely he would go for the last option..
