The reason so many jsp'ers are resisting the events section is that people refresh the trade chats, not the event section, hence posting a thread and bumping it 20 times is a FAR more effective way to fill a ul / rush.

The solution to this would be to find a way to add the events section to the trade forum so that people can choose whether or not to see it there. Make it so that an event scheduled for that realm (ex Softcore - USWEST Ladder Trading) is posted either on the side or top of the forum. Make it so the most recent 5 show, and add a button so people can expand it or close it. It would be a simple addition to the forum, and make it so people would no longer feel it is necessary to create a thread and constantly bump it in order to fill a rush / ul.
