I've given a lot of thought to this idea originally found in this post:

I know some people will disagree because some people might abuse it BUT I still think this is a great way to have people gain a certain degree of trustworthiness without really having a tag. When you are trading with a random person you have never traded before there is always that feeling of uncertainty, is he a good/legit trader, is he gonna scam me?

Well if we can add "points" to a person if he/she is being helpful, or if we had a successful/smooth trade with such, why not give it a +1 (Btw i've seen this sytem used in other forums and from what i've seen it works great). Not on a scale from 1-10. Think of it as a "vouch" a person who trusts you will give you without having to post on your topic, etc. These points can be displayed under User stats.

The ways i've figured this could not be abused

• The person giving points has to be on the site for at least 6 months AND, OR posting actively on the site
• There must be a link of the thread attached to the vote on which normal users can go and see why the +1 was issued
• Fake profile points can be punished by locking people giving fake points, and points can be removed if this happens to prevent people from making multis to benefit themselves.
• People on your friend list, cannot give out profile points to you just because. If they do they must have a reason for it, if they fail to provide the reason why hes giving you +1's they can be punished.
• There has to be predetermined reasons why you can get a +1, so people can't randomly post a thread and have a friend issue a point for dumb reasons, "like: he bumped my thread" etc. This can be very specific and only certain actions can earn you +1s.
• Negative numbers cannot be issued to prevent already locked/scammer trolls from abusing this, if you have an issue with a person there is other means to fixing it.

Thats all i got so far, if I think of anything else or if you have anything else to add to this please post.

We got trader tags, and the warn bar for this

Even if we had like this and when we vouch a person for being a good trader, we could add the trade topic so everyone can see that the trade have been made.

Even if it would be like this I don't know if it would work, friends could do fake trades between each others in trade topic, and more. But you say you have seen it working on other forums?

Let me just say this, how many Trusted tags were issued, there is more then 500k registered users in this forum, in my experience on this forum i have never EVER traded with a trusted/med, and i have done quite a bit of trading in my 4 years here. So how does that help me?

Warns cannot be used to measure someone's degree of trustworthiness same as post count. Scammer tags are proven scams not potential scams, this could really help me and other people to know more or less who are you trading with, like njaguar once said post count means nothing. Same thing can be said for warns, so whats left? hope to find a trusted/med to trade with?

I understand why meds and trusted might refuse to this idea, it must have taken lots of work to get that tag and you don't want to lose your place in this forum which i can honestly agree with you guys, but tell me how many times has a med or a trusted been scammed? who is going to be dumb enough to do so?
But take into consideration there is lots of people here that are usually good traders/helpful people and they might deserve a little something in return



That's a good point, we can add that only one point per person its allowed, this to the rules to prevent abuse, until we come up with a better solution, this goes along with the only active accounts can issue points And yes i've seen this several times on different websites, take eebay for instance thats a huge example of this, and I can say that always before making a purchase on eebay I ALWAYS look at the seller's feedback, it just works. Ive also seen this as "thanks" and "karma"

What would prevent multi accounters from benefiting from this and user's secretly bribing/buying "points"? I don't think its needed and its to flawed.

Can you only give 1 point to a person? or can you give them everytime you trade them? If its only 1 point, i suppose it might work, also make it so you can take away points for a bad trade, etc.

I would kind of change your idea.. there should be a "comment space" in your profile under your notes or w/e and people who traded can post the link to the trade thread, comment, and pass over. Voted yes to your idea though.

Even though it has good and bad sides, I don't want people telling me I have less points than them, thinking they are somehow more reliable as traders.

Not, because u say u can give +1 points to some persons. It will start trades like "i will giveu +1 and u will give me +1 " it's not good for trustworthiness. Smart traders will see who is trustd and who is random At least i see , because i am smart.

imo this sounds really complicated to make and to regulate.
This will bring more problems than help imo.
