There already is something very similar to this, which is the Calendar system ( http://forums.d2jsp.org/user.php?c=2 ).
If you join/host an Event, a little pin/note will go up, on the day the Event is scheduled for, in your profile's calendar, displaying all of the information regarding the Event, upon clicking it.

No from me, as the Calendar system is almost identical to the idea you are suggesting gets added.
