Well, at the moment the first page is full of overdue events so without going to the second page I can't see what might be starting in 5-10 minutes.

If an event has already started isn't it too late for someone to join anyway?

So I suggest that when an event starts it is moved to the last page, deleted off of the list?

An event that has already started may still be joinable (and most still are). They automatically expire after approximately 2 hours after the start time.
