Read This First
First off, I would like to say that the moderators on this site work VERY hard, I am not calling any of them lazy. But as it stands right now the rules are too lenient. They're working themselves to death for no reason.

What's the point of having a set of rules if all you ever do is give someone a dirty look for breaking them. Its a known fact that you can do WHATEVER you want, so long as it's not porn/racism, keyloggers, or slander against paul, nothing will be done. Obviously that statement isn't all inclusive, the moderators do warn for a few other things, hell I might even get a warn for this thread.

Report it!!!
Yes I'm well aware of the report buttons, but the report buttons really mean nothing if no punishment is ever given. I've looked through the spam/early bump stickied posts, the only one that looked remotely helpful was the quick report feature, because maybe, just maybe then people would actually take the time to report stuff. As it stands right now, nothing is ever done to stop the person from continuing with the spamming. So why would I bother click the button, load a window, scroll through the list click report and wait for the thread to load again when the person is only going to repost it three minutes later with no consequences.

What happened to Dad?
For those of you who don't know, Dad was a moderator who dillegently handed out warns, there was none of the slap on the wrist bullshit like there is now. People knew that if they stepped out of line they were gonna hear about it.
I've talked with a couple of my mediator friends, the way the rules are setup now, they hand out two verbal warns before a warn is ever given. Even if the person is at 40% warn, they still give them two verbals before ever taking action. In order for them to pm a user and give them a verbal warning they must have at least three threads with excessive spams/early bumps. So basically, short of devoting every waking minute to collecting and organizing threads, moderators will never have enough against any one individual to take action against them.

The Test
Let me give you an example of some threads that make me think, "What the fuck?" I refreshed useast trading ONCE, set at 50 posts per page and checked to see what kind of garbage I could find and here it is:

http://forums.d2jsp.org/index.php?showtopic=31027186&f=53 ~ Spam
http://forums.d2jsp.org/index.php?showtopic=31026745&f=53 ~ Early Bumps

TLDR
Then leave this thread.

Edit: Two of my mediator friends requested I add the following.

Quote (Anonymous1)
stronger and quicker punishment of users who flagrantly break the rules will result in less pms to mods as they're overwhelmed with pms

Quote (Anonymous2)
if warns are handed out they dont last long, even if they STILL ARE DOING IT!

I completely agree. And in many cases, the person who was actually following the rules is punished.

Take this example from just earlier today. The Topic poster paid for the topic title, and followed the rules (bumping only after 4 hours, etc). The thread quickly became over-run with spam, until a mod comes and closes it, saying "This can be reposted".

The spammers recieved no warn.
The person following the rules has this topic spammed, and loses the fg he paid with no compensation.

I just don't get the point of the rules anymore :(

I would suggest you add a poll to this, but I would guess the majority of the people would vote no anyways.

LOL. Wow, thats basically the entire reason I didn't add a poll. The rule breakers would obviously vote against it, so whats the point?

I agree 100%. I keep seeing people early bumping 25+ times a day, early reposting, etc. etc.
They're never getting warned for that...

Edit: I used to report every early bumps, early reposts. I've never seen someone getting warned. ;/

Yup, I used to report everything too, but I stopped. Cause it was pointless.

wont happen for this simple reason... people wont donate cause fg locked cause they @ 60% warn and if warns handed out to easily end up with those that 80% warn just making multi's

People have been actively voicing this same stuff for last few years an instead of things getting tougher they are easier

Ofc i vote yes

Sounds like they need to create a suspension without warn option. In my opinon, being suspended is worse then a warn because it causes more of a problem for that user. Unless of course they have 50%+ warn, then they're just overall screwed anyways.

Big Yes vote here. I hate the fact that when Im trying to do a legitimate trade with a ft list or an iso it gets overrun with spam and/or people make several topics and early bump. Damn good idea. I cant see anyone who follows the rules voting no in this.
