Well, my friend Ryan (Anemoii) and I were talking about reporting signatures and avatars, when one of us
thought someone's signature was above the KB limit.

One of us thought that because the signature/avatar was bigger than 70,000 bytes/50,000 bytes, it was violating the rules.
The other one of us then told them that there are 1,024 bytes in a KB, so 71,680 for a signature or 51,200 for an avatar, would actually be violating the rules.

What I am suggesting is, in the rules, where it says "Total size of the images contained in your signature or avatar should not exceed 50 kilobytes for the avatar and 70 kilobytes for the signature.", it should be changed to something along the lines of "Total size of the images contained in your signature or avatar should not exceed 50 kilobytes (51,200 bytes) for the avatar and 70 kilobytes (71,680 bytes) for the signature.".

We think this will help users, that are reporting signature/avatar violations, that are unaware of the fact that there are 1,024 bytes, and not and not 1,000, in a kilobyte.

Please feel free to post your opinions regarding this suggestion!

Pretty sure I was the one who told you this when you said that my sig was over the limit.

I don't think this is necessary, if you are a regular reporter you should know what you are reporting, and in Opera it tells you the KB amount, followd by the size translated into bytes. 57 KB (57,523 bytes), for example.

Also, our Members++ already know this and that is what matters, since they are the ones sending the PMs. :)

True, but I'm sure some people report signatures/avatars that are violating the rules, regardless of how badly they are violating them.

Yeah, it was you that caused one of us to point out the other's mistake. :P

You're right, it also simplifies the KB amount in FireFox too, but I'm pretty sure it does not in Internet Explorer.

This could maybe help prevent any mistakes from ever occurring, with the Members++'s, and it may also save the Members++'s time,
and inbox space, due to no one PMing them signature/avatar violations, that aren't actually violating the rules. :)

Yep, or just members that are unaware of the fact that there are 1,024 bytes, and not 1,000 bytes, in a kilobyte.
Thank you for your opinion. :)
