jsp scammer facts

far too many people in jsp are scammers and the reason exist is because they can steal yer stuff and make profit.

trade + scam = gold lock = no fg or little fg locked = scammer makes big profit
( anyone very new to jsp or 0 fg then they must give first or they will scam because they have nothing to lose)

this can be usually avoided if trade half or less of the presumed scammers fg because not paying will result in fg lock of more fg than trade therefore providing no profit for scammer

1/2fg >trade + scam = gold lock = more fg locked then stole = no profit for scammer = no reason for person to scam

but some scammers realize this being used to stop them from stealing and gaining profit so they carry twice gold of trade in order to look like they trusted but after they cheat you and you report they sell there fg for items or xfer to different acnnts before they locked

1/2fg>trade + scam = getting rid of fg when reported before locked = huge profit = reason to scam more = more scamming of your hard earned fg's and items



my idea for fix

i suggest we stop right in the middle of this expert way to scam innocent jsp users like this

1/2fg>trade +scam = locked scammer instant reported= continue lock until 24 hours or proven gulity or innocent ( 24 hours considered innocent) = no time for scammer to xfer or trade off fg = no profit = no scams


if any two jspers have a disagreement or flame one another and one decides to report person and temp gold lock for revenge, they will recieve warn or suspend maybe ban if continues ( thats for nj to decide i'd assume)
also must be member for 6 months or year or 2year whatever seems reasonable to have ability to temp gold lock with an accusation

jsper 1yr or more + false accuse = violation
jsper new acnnt + any accuse = no gold lock till meds decided 100% proof or whatever happens now really

That is a very biased poll....

in the sense that 4 of the options are diffent versions of yes it is a very bias poll but just turned out that way and wasn't intentional, i didn't have other options than those in my head when writing

(edit) I guess I better give my "No" opinion. Fact is there are mediators on this site to help people with their trades, if you use them, you will not get scammed. Why go through all this trouble when (imo) the person who was scammed could have prevented it.

Honestly how hard can it be drilled into people - Use a mediator.

many trades are not mediated because of time factor
you often hear those who arn't willing to wait for med are those who are always scammers but no neccicarily true
if you posted hrs at 5fg each and have another saying 5fg but you require med then one not requiring med will get significanly more offers from legit people who hate waiting for med

but i will change options tmorrow to make poll with "use a med 100% time don't worry about scams" button

To prevent yourself from being scammed request a mediator, if you decide to trade without a mediator then you are doing so at risk to yourself.

Innocent until proven guilty. If you are unsure about someone, well, then use mediator!!!!!!

Mate, all the option needs to be is [x] No. Let people express their opinions in their posts rather than the 1 option given.

At your point, well thats the name of the game, you take the risk. If you trade without using a mediator you are fully aware that their is a risk involved, where as you could have waited a short time and been given the opportunity to trade risk free.

But I feel I'm straying from your suggestion here, sorry about that, so I will try and get back to it. In theory I do like the idea, you addressed pretty much every point where it could go wrong, but its quiet a drastic change and d2jsp has always seemed to have an "Innocent until proven guilty" policy, so I cant see this being implemented. For me, its just too complex and I feel it would slow down the overall process of weeding out the scammers (due to the extra tasks that would be placed on mods/helpers).
