Hello guys I've been thinking about it and I haven't seen any spending suggestions about this

To be able to edit your first post in a topic!

First of all: I know it is a special right of the mod team to be able to edit their own posts or others. so several restrictions are needed

Where ?

• The Trade sections
• Guides in the stickies
• propose if you have others ideas....

How ?

You should only be able to edit your first post if you made the topic! others posts can not be edited.

How long can you edit your first post ?

It depends on what is decided ^^ it might be a week , 3 weeks , 3 months , ever

Why ?

Because it would be so much easier ! when you want to trade an item , you can edit your first post with prices, addtionnal info you forgot , BIN, DL, leading offer!

ex 1: You're trading in the D2 or Ladderslasher section
You post an item for sell, you have no idea of a dl/bin yet , so you're just looking for offers.

Lets imagine that you have almost no offers, your bin is posted on page #2 then you lower it on page#4
Most people won't check all pages ^^ they'll check the first page, maybe the last one...

Now if you can edit your first post, more people will see your new Bin/dl and it'll probbaly prevent people from posting something like " any bin in mind ?" or "what is the new bin?"

ex 2: You made a guide for a section/game/etc...
several days or weeks later, there is an update ( ex: Ladderslasher ) etc...
Your guide is now outdated and some things that were right are now wrong with the new update

with this, you could edit your guide

Why is it restricted to trade sections only ?

to prevent spam and people editing their first post all over in the general chat section ( for example )

Cons ?

• fake offer and people erasing all they wrote in 1st post , but it could be reported then
• Bad mannered people changing their price when bin has been taken or... I don't know

That's all
Even if I doubt it will ever be allowed, I still find this quite interesting

Lol that's brilliant, especially on d2 forums.
This have to be added asap. Just how many times I wanted to edit
my trade topics with lots of items, and I just had to wait for the next
bump and update the list, which no-one cares and still offer for the
items from the first post..

it would make it easier for scams to take place

if u really wanna edit your first post (that includes trade lists or something similar)

No sorry To many Scams will take place, as if they don't already...

well, tell me how exactly it will bring more scams
if you can edit the first post only, people will still post their offers on the topic.

only thing they can do is lying about an item or the price and change it in the topic, but then it seems pretty hard to accept the trade if the info is changed
unless you have another reason I haven't seen yet

The .jpg swap method would work just as well for scamming IMO.
If anything, the .jpg swap is even more shady due to the fact that it won't leave

this at the bottom of the post.
