There has been a TON of uber scamming lately, and I think something needs to be done to help prevent it.

The rules state that you can post requesting a service, and a non trusted tagged member may respond and offer those services. But you may not create a thread offering services with out a trusted tag.

The person responding to those threads where someone is in need of ubers knows going in that he can scam and nothing will happen if he does. If the rules could be redone in such a way that states if the person offering the service responds to a thread where the service was requested then they should be held responsible for not completing the task. If someone makes an "Iso: Level Job" thread and the person who responded scams for the fg and doesn't do the job, they are held responsible, so why not do the same thing with ubers? You would have to post the same information in S/A with a link to the thread like everyone else does. If you respond to a thread where services are being offered without a trusted tag then you do so at your own risk. I think this would cut down a lot on people getting scammed if the uber scammers knew they would be facing having their gold locked. Also, I think it would make JSP a safer place to trade for services. Because lets face it, there are more of non rated traders than there are trusted tags, and ubers are highly traded.

Yes I know this, that's why I'm suggesting some of the rules be changed so S/A would support it.

If the rules were changed, then yes you would know who is responsible.

The other option is to not allow ubers in any manner without a trusted tag. That is how it was before.

There is no way to mediate those kinds of things other than for the mediator to host the service themself, so the options are either the way it is now or the way it was before.

this site used to ban ALL ubers with customers on account even WITH trusted tag, after too many ut scams had happened and messed up s/a with victims cries and rages.
it seems history repeats itself... time to disallow ubers once again? dry.gif

EDIT:
this is the old sticky when ubers were not allowed at all.

I agree. They aren't reliable, hard to mediate and hard to police.
