A simple suggestion, concerning account suspensions.

When someone receives a suspension, I believe they should be sent a simple PM stating the reason and/or citing the infraction that caused it. They would read it whenever they get back.

This is not difficult. I imagine Balakai and everyone else involved spends more time going through their PM's and E-mail answering all the "Why was I suspended?" messages, than it would take to do this.

Many people have been getting suspensions lately, and there's a bunch of threads in GH. If Moderators are handing out suspensions in the place of warns (Which is stupid imo, but another argument entirely) then it follows that they should give a reason here as well.

And before anyone says "You know what you got suspended for.." or "You broke the rules, why do you need it explained?" No. People don't always know what rule they broke. Inform them so they don't do it in future or it's pointless.

It is listed in their warn log, if they check it they will know the reason.

Can you give me an example? When a member of the mod team issues a warning or suspension they write in a brief description of the violation that you will see in the 'Notes' section of your warn log, and will add a link(s) if possible.

I've been suspended twice. Once for 30 days and once for 24 hours. Neither resulted in a warn, so there is nothing in the warn log.

If it's a warn + suspension, then yes.. there would be something in the log.

7+ days suspensions are issued by the highest authorities in the forum , and they don't just hand them out for personal fun/pleasure
you've violated(maybe repeatedly) major rules of the forum, read the rules again and you'll know what you've done

24 hours suspensions can be auto , if you're trying to post known harmful links/images(even by using the "preview reply" button) or send fake gold logs via pm .

if you have any questions regarding a suspension/warn you can pm Balakai and he might get you the answer you're looking for.
as for the last part in your suggestion "No. People don't always know what rule they broke. Inform them so they don't do it in future or it's pointless." icon_pointr.gif as long as a member follows the rules they won't get in trouble. read and respect the forum and trade rules and you won't have any problems here.
