Yep. Sick and tired of getting threads closed without sufficient explanations. Request is simple.

Add a line "Thread closed by (insert name here)".

In case the moderators/donor tagged feel too exposed by this, alternatively that line could only be readable by the original thread maker.

Example:

Wrong Forum: This post was posted in the wrong forum. Please repost in the proper location.
This thread was closed by: (some random name here)

This would be to more easily figure out who did this and contact him/her/it and ask for the thread to be reopened since they were obviously just drunk or something

Don't try and counter with that the ones closing the threads "make a last post before closing if necessary, explaining the situation" cos they don't. not the new ones at least

knowing what the thread was closed for is what matters , not who closed it
if it was closed without a reason and you are 100% sure of that you can pm a TA, TM (for trade realms) or a JM and ask why t was closed as you know it shouldn't have been .

stick to the rules and it won't get closed, thus this won't be needed

if you think a topic was closed for wrong reasons pm any moderator of that section
