People make mistakes while writing threads whether its a typo or a wrong picture and sometimes it's a whole different story. It's a human attribute; mistakes. Another time, someone has spammed a paid thread and a med is forced to close it. But shouldn't a thread maker have the chance to edit his/her own thread? Shouldn't he/she have the freedom to delete posts that aren't wanted and be able to close the thread at his/her own will? Here are some scenarios in which a person may want the opportunity to edit his/her own thread.

-His/her thread has turned into a flame/spam war and it's getting serious.
-He/she posted the wrong s/s but realized it's too late to edit.
-He/she has already sold the item in-game but people continue bidding on the item.
-He/she has already sold the item via PM and would like to close the thread without further ado.
-He/she has some trolling on his/her thread and would like to delete the posts

I don't see how this could bring about negatives/cons, as it is up to the thread maker, and not anybody else.

In my times spent reading thread after thread, I've seen threads turn into meaningless flame wars. Some people write "charsi" on paid threads, and some people continuously spam threads with unwanted images. Imagine this -

You paid 5 FG to bold a thread and you're trying to sell an item.

Troll 1 comes along and writes "junk, charsi" on your thread.

Wouldn't you want to delete that post so people don't actually think it's junk and should be sold to charsi?

To wrap this up, I'm proposing that thread makers should have ability to ~

-Delete posts written on threads
-Close threads at will

Except that he's right. This is going to get said no to and locked, just like all the other times this exact idea was suggested. You are not a moderator, and you do not deserve the power to censor others.

I'm trying to suggest a fair and balanced power for the users in this forum. Those whom have been victims to trolling on this website know that it sucks to be powerless; it would be a great privilege to have the ability to delete posts that are unwanted. I don't see how this power could be abused. It's your thread and you should have the power to filter out whats unwanted.

No, you shouldn't. Plain and simple. Out of all the forums I've been a member of, I have never seen a system like this. It's just stupid. There are moderators for a reason. If you feel that something doesn't belong in your thread, then PM a moderator and ask them delete it. This is not only nearly impossible to code, but is one of the easiest things to abuse ever. I don't see what's hard to understand: This is suggested once a week and is always denied.

Not everyone thinks the same way you do. This is a public online forum, and there's such a numerous amount of trolls, flamers, and spammers in every section. If you were trying to sell an item, made a thread, and someone wrote charsi on it; wouldn't that bring a negative impact on the public interest of your item? This is a trading forum, not exactly the same as all the other forums you browse. That's what differentiates the two; I'm sure you would feel a change of heart once you pay FG to bold a thread and have people post garbage on there.

edit: and I was unaware that this suggestion has been brought up in the past, I regularly browse this sub forum but I haven't seen this yet.
