This is regarding moderator enforcement of spam in all sections. Posts that are clearly intended as a "+1" currently go unchallenged and thus promotes even further spam. It has in turn gone viral in sections such as general chat and especially user blogs.

What I would suggest is a serious crackdown on obvious useless posts. If you spam, you are warned, no questions asked. Through natural selection all of the offending accounts will eventually be filtered out.

Let me know your thoughts.

I agree 100% especially in the trade sections but this will most likely never happen

Spamming has gone completely viral because there is no enforcement. People who normally wouldn't spam due to risk of being penalized are partaking because there are no visible consequences.

I believe a firm crackdown would have a clear reduction in off-topic posts.

Has been suggested so freaking many times.
It's not going to happen because it's not possible to keep up with spammers, and warning people so excessively will result in even more multiaccounts.

I don't see any problems in just harmless spam.
This is a messageboard and a little spam here and there is part of having fun.

If someone constantly floods, he is warned.

It's a simple procedure. Poor post = warn. And it's not a little harmless spam, several sections have been consumed by it.

yes. Were it up to me I would ban everyone... ^^

nah lol but seriously I voted yes..I think this has been suggested many times or similar..

They changed policy some years ago, to be more lax...Maybe they have more info and it works better now.. I dunno..

still pointless to have rules and not enforce it... early bumps is also kind of annoying..

anyway not up to me...

Early bumps are annoying indeed, but I don't personally care if someone spams around, what does it matter?
If he does it excessively, he *will* be warned.
Warning people for every single "poor post" sounds like joker's dimension material.

i believe letting the mods do their job would work as well
but i guess thats my belief

i'll say the same thing over and over again
let the mods do their jobs
you have to help them as well.
they have better things to do then go into every single thread and look for violations
if you see someone excessively spamming, pm the links to a mod

The "report post" button should be sufficient in this area.

not enough mods to enforce this... it would be a waste of time / energy.

I think it would also make this forum a lot less enjoyable. A lot of people don't even play any of the games on this forum.. they come here to chat.
