"Cartoons don't die, they just get canned" -Yakko (the Animaniac)

Old posts don't get deleted either, they get moved to an archive. These archives can be accessed from D2jsp (for example, if you bookmark a thread and then revisit it several weeks or months later or if you visit the Archives subforum), however there is no simple way to access the entire year's posts. Only 100 pages of the archives can be browsed, which amounts to roughly three weeks worth of threads. I opine that D2jsp should facilitate access by the entire community to these forums where every old thread and topic is preserved. Furthermore, every month and post of the forum archives should be fully trackable and searchable.

Click on my profile to view a list of the items that I am currently in search of. Nice argument, attack the speaker and not the idea. On top of that, your forum gold is locked. Please vote based on the merits of the idea, not your disposition towards the person presenting it.

I personally believe that the search function should be ubiquitous. The point of making a suggestion is not to guess whether it will or will not happen but rather to determine if it should.

Not needed. Your browser history will have most of threads there if you don't clear it. If you want to keep tract of a thread keep the url somewhere.

I think you have misunderstood this suggestion. It isn't really intended to assist with revisting a thread that has been viewed recently, it is so that D2jsp users can benefit from six years worth of postings by going back and viewing them all. The archives only allow 100 pages of posts to be viewed for a given year which amounts to roughly three weeks out of fifty two for every year catalogged. Newer and older users alike would be able to take full advantage of D2jsp's history in a way that they are unable to do now.

sorry older posts are classified ofc

but i dnt see why you would want to look through 6 years worth of posts, anything thats interesting has either been posted/put in profiles etc such as Njag slamming some noobs and sending cops round etc

no need imo
