To be honest with you, I've rarely ever see a topic in the sporting forum about fishing in the first place. If you look at the first 10 pages in the sports forum you will find maybe 1-2 topics on fishing, if the Sports forum needs anything right now it's a poker forum, seeing as thats what all the topics are about.

I like the idea as an occasional fisher myself, but it wouldn't be used enough is my only concern, seeing as the forums are already crowded enough, I don't think more sub-forums are needed.

yes, could ask about lures, talk bout catches, etc... for Christ sake we have a love line forum...

In my personal opinion, no. Sorry As well as Poker. If you found a ton of JSP users that fish.. Then possibly. Null'd.
