This is currently being voted on as a "Snowboarding/skateboarding" sub-forum. One question, what exactly would you talk about? In sports, you have teams and betting. With skateboarding, it seems like there would just be a bunch of d2jsp users talking about they're favorite skate boarder. Now, that would probably make it the easiest sub-forum to spam in and the easiest place to flame individuals about their poor skate boarding ability or to have pointless arguments containing personal attacks about "which pro skateboarder is better". If you can find a few legitimate/realistic things that the forum would be used for that you believe the majority of users would actually follow, then please post them. Because for now, I believe that the only purpose this sub-forum will do is attract spammers looking for more posts.
they can bet here also.. for example, x-games. who comes #1 #2 #3 whoever is closest to being right gets fg, you need to buy in or something.
i already told you what it would be used for besides the betting part if you read a little further..
mods will just have to be very strict when it first releases about spam.. 1 spam = 10% or 1 verbal warning and then blam 10%. that's up to them i guess.
for the "arguments about favorite skateboarders" people can easily just make a poll... and then vote.
they can post videos of themselves or favorite skateboarding clips. (even if paul won't allow they can still post the link with description on why it is they're favorite etc.
there is just so much you can post there.. skateboard set-ups, trivia (this can have bets involved or just a pay-out quiz like the ladderslasher ones)
advise on what to buy for a beginner or even a pro for that matter, how long have you skated? polls, the're first trick landed, local skateparks... i can go on for days to be completley honest. and ESPECIALLY if the outdoors/fishing got implemented... well you know.Quote (Linux @ Wed, 14 May 2008, 19:59)
Well, I just looked around and considering the posts in the other sport's forums like "Fighting" then I guess this would be just like that. There probably wouldn't be as many topics to talk about, and I doubt moderators would take it strictly, you'll see what I mean if you see the other sports forums. So, I'm sure there will be a large amount of supporting users, but to me it will just turn into one of those sub-forums that I don't necessarily agree with the purpose but they can/will be implemented none the less. So, good luck and I voted "Other".
they don't have to be strict and take it seriously the whole time if it takes too much of their time... they can easily just put their foot down at first so people know not to do wrong there. This post was edited by element104954 on May 14 2008 06:18pm
