okay so my suggestion is this:

instead of people reporting there own topics to moderators to get there own topics closed

why not have an option in the report button that requests to have your own topic closed

and only the topic creator have the option to report his/her OWN thread

this will save time pming moderators and save the moderators time reading pms and then closing

it will just go straight to the mod que where the mods will see it



So Basically.. if the topic creator wants his topic closed... he can just report himself (and only he has the option)
to have his topic closed

this will not take away m++/mod advantages of closing topics

sounds good but can probably get abused

like people making topics and requesting them to be closed?

why would they do that?

spammers/scammers people like that want there topics open to create spam.. not to get them closed..

i don't see how it can be abused unless the originator intends to close his topic and post another one right afterwards.

this could be prevented by having a 1-hour repost limit as is already in effect.

Sounds good - but i do believe their will be abuse - Like topics for example

"closing my topic!"

all the spammers/locked people will Take advantage and spam forums then lock there own topics - Blah i don't know - Try it out, See how it goes.

but they will spam in anyway they can ..

i dont see why they would do that.. most of the spammers do it for +1

there not going to get many +1's by closing there topic..

i do NOT need nor do i want useless comments appended to my posts.

and a 'vouch' is the most useless of all posts. As a matter of fact it is a direct indicator of the usefulness of the poster.
