cool idea, but i dont think guild alliances should be able to be purchased

if this is a mainly ladder slasher centric idea, maybe you should have to earn them.
-scoring X amount of guild points
-maybe an alliance slot granted after using a totem
-or maybe even a completely subjective thing voted upon by community/staff for active/helpful/well mannered guilds

i REALLY like this idea, but im not a big fan of just being able to buy slots

Very interesting input actually, I really like your idea as well.
Of course, brainstorming here and letting Mr. Paul decide the final implementation is great.
