I was going to vote Yes before I read that huge cool thing from Rew heart.gif smile.gif ! ^^ So I vote null ^.o smile.gif " I like the current system because it enables people to learn from their mistakes " ... So true. Couldn't say better ^.^

If people follow the rules, this wouldn't be an issue, either. I'd sooner suggest advocacy of rule-following than automated enforcement. It pains me to see early bumps but at the same time I like the current system because it enables people to learn from their mistakes--and pay for egregious rule-breaking. Without the existing constraints, people might not learn in the more organic fashion. And that would be a shame, because the rest of the site works the way the trade forums work now (no automations on enforcements).

For me it's a matter of consistency and allowing people to make mistakes so that they can learn from them. I like the natural feel of how things work now, but the solid sense of what you've suggested is apparent to me. I'm a "NO" without adding a vote. I'd rather not tarnish the debate at this point.

post()
endif

I dont see why you would ask people not to post if they say no. You need positive and negative feedback to make this non biased.

i did: "Please post arguments if do not agree."

unfortunately the vast majority of those who voted no did not give a reason:

No, it's very simple like it is right now.

not really an argument against the suggestion but at least he said something
(can't see how automated control of some early bumps would complicate matters for him)
