When the thread creator posts/bumps, the Next Bump time is shown. It should be easy to determine if the last post was by the thread creator.
Rather then allowing to post before the bump time has expired the user should be send to a screen similar to flood control, stating that an illegal bump is attempted. (Perhaps even have a short time delay)
This should reduce the number of early bumps (hopefully) significantly and improve trading for those who follow the rules.

Please post arguments if do not agree.

I say yes

I dont see why you would ask people not to post if they say no. You need positive and negative feedback to make this non biased.

If you do flood control thing how do you determine if it's a bump or someone comenting back to another user?

Not like the noobs won't just find a way around it anyways.

it is known who did the last post (and it should be pretty easy to check)

well it could stop the thread maker from posting twice in a row within 4 hour intervals. Woiuldnt be greatly hard.

If people follow the rules, this wouldn't be an issue, either. I'd sooner suggest advocacy of rule-following than automated enforcement. It pains me to see early bumps but at the same time I like the current system because it enables people to learn from their mistakes--and pay for egregious rule-breaking. Without the existing constraints, people might not learn in the more organic fashion. And that would be a shame, because the rest of the site works the way the trade forums work now (no automations on enforcements).

For me it's a matter of consistency and allowing people to make mistakes so that they can learn from them. I like the natural feel of how things work now, but the solid sense of what you've suggested is apparent to me. I'm a "NO" without adding a vote. I'd rather not tarnish the debate at this point.
