Yes because friend requests get ignored and\or take 2-3 days to get accepted because the person won't look at that little (Friend requests (1) ) message at the bottom.

But maybe instead of a PM to the inbox it would show up as a reminder
that blinks and flashes next to the Friend Box, or if the friend request messages
did not count as a message but as nothing so it would not fill the inbox.
