the diference beetwen the current ranking and yours is: in the current ranking my best friend has the highest number. in your ranking my best friend has the lowest number.

if people give rank 1 to hes best friend and he automatically goes to the bottom, then its not hard to understand you have to give him the highest number to be in the top.

i would be surprised if someone gets confused with this.

imo changing this would be just a waste of time for the staff, but if staff doesnt mind about doing this, i dont mind if they change it.

Well, when I was new I didn't really understand it, I posted in general help and got it cleared up...

But now that I've spent a lot longer at this site, I remembered that time and thought maybe other people found it strange / hard to understand?

I don't think it'd be a waste of time - a generic ranking system will be, 99% of the time, done the way I suggested - after all, #1 in a race wins, right? I think it's just universally more understandable to people, personally. It's not a riveting new suggestion that's gonna change the whole of JSP forever, but I think it will help new users to understand, and there'll be no negative impacts from implementing it
